Data tables store information that you can use across your workflows. This key feature allows data management capabilities to be integrated into your workflows, allowing them to be updated in real-time.
This article discusses the procedures for importing data into and exporting data out of tables in AUTTO.

Introduction
This article is about importing and exporting information stored in AUTTO's data tables.
If you are looking for information on managing data tables, e.g. creating, editing, and deleting data tables, see Managing Data Tables.
For information on data table concepts in AUTTO, including how to apply them in your workflows and the actions that you can use with your data tables, see Using Data Tables.
Although not required, a basic understanding of database concepts may prove useful when working with data tables in AUTTO.
Importing Data into a Table
You can populate a newly-created data table with your existing records by putting these records into an.XLS/XLSX file, then importing them into the data table from within AUTTO. This also serves as a way to mass-update records in your data tables.
These records may come from your existing system or spreadsheet-based program, which may be a more convenient data entry method than manually entering them into AUTTO.
The import file should meet the required format in AUTTO for it to be successfully imported. If the import file does not meet the required format, it will not be successfully processed and the records will not be imported into the data table. For example, if the import file does not have a value in a required CUSTOMER column, the file will not be processed.
NOTE: Files cannot be imported into data tables. If you have a file column in a data table, you will have to manually add the files into the data table after importing your other data.
To import records into a data table:
- On your Dashboard, click the Main Menu, then Data Tables.
- On the Data tables page, look for the data table you want to export data from, then click the downward-pointing arrow to its right.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the Table Editor, then click Import .XLSX.
- On the Import settings window, enter the number of the row containing the first record, not including the header or title row. For example, if the import file has a header row, enter 2 as the First row.
- You may also enter the number of the Last row containing a record, but this is not required. If you leave this blank, AUTTO will import all records from the file until an empty row is reached.
- Optionally, and if your import file has a Record ID column, check the Do you want to import a file with Record ID box, then specify the column used for the Record ID. If you leave the box unchecked, AUTTO will append Record IDs to the data during the import process.
- Specify the positions of the columns in the import file. For example, if Column A is the first column, enter 'A.' Make sure that you also fill up the other required fields in the Import settings window, otherwise you will not be able to process the file. Required fields are denoted with an asterisk to their right.
- Once all the required fields in the Import settings window are filled up, the Next button becomes enabled. Click the button to go to the next page.
- On the Upload .xlsx file page, either drag and drop the file into the designated box or click Choose File, select the file from its location on your PC, then upload it to AUTTO.
- Click Done to start processing the file. You will be informed via a message that the file is being processed and that you will receive an email after processing is finished.
Important Considerations When Loading Files into AUTTO
- Files cannot be imported into data tables. If you have a file column in a data table, you will have to manually add them after importing your other data.
- The data table will be locked while file processing is ongoing - you will not be able to use it until the file has been processed.
- It might take some time to process the file, especially if it contains many records.
- AUTTO will email you once the job is completed. If there are errors with the file, the details will be given in the email. Correct the errors, then try importing the file again.
- After processing and the Data Table is still showing as processing in your AUTTO Dashboard, either refresh the browser page or navigate away from the Data Tables page and back again.
Exporting Data from a Table
You can export records out of a data table in AUTTO into an .XLS/.XLSX file, which can then be manipulated outside AUTTO using some other system or program.
If you are going to import the data from AUTTO into some other system, make sure that your system can accommodate the file format of the records as saved from AUTTO. You can check the format by opening the file in a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel.
To export records out of a data table:
- On your Dashboard, click the Main Menu, then Data Tables.
- On the Data tables page, look for the data table you want to export data from, then click the downward-pointing arrow to its right.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the Table Editor, then click Export .XLSX.
- On the Download data window, enter your password, then click Done.
- Depending on your browser settings, the file will either be saved into the default download location on your PC or you will be prompted to save the file.
