What is a Rich Text Question?
When used in a Form action, a Rich Text question displays a multi-line text box with a Rich Text Editor that allows users to format their answer to the question. The answer is then saved into a square bracket/s for later use in your workflow.
In a Text question, the default text box where workflow users can enter their simple text answers is normally small, limiting users to entering either a single line of information, by default, or multiple lines, if the Long Text Question option is enabled. In comparison, a Rich Text question provides a larger text box that allows rich text format input.
A Rich Text question as it appears in a workflow's Form Action is shown below.
Setting Up a Rich Text Question
To add a Rich Text question to a Form action, select it from the list on the Action Editor. You can then start setting up the Rich Text question. For more information, see Setting Up a Form Action.
Ensure that you provide a name for the answer in the form of a Square Bracket. This way, you can use the answer in the latter stages of your workflow.
Advanced Options
Under a Rich Text question's Advanced options section, you can set up the following:
- Default value: the default text displayed on the answer box. This is either taken from a square bracket or entered manually.
- Button name: Form actions are set to be non-scrollable by default, meaning you have to click a button at the bottom of each Question page to go to the next question. While the button name is set to Continue by default, you have the option to set a new name for the button.
- Conditional Questions: Each question type you can use in a Form action can be set to include Conditional Questions, if required. With Conditional questions, a question can be made to appear or disappear, depending on certain conditions. For more information, see Conditional Questions.
