If your workflow requires a form with longer blocks of text, e.g. instructional text on how to fill up the form, plus file attachments, a Content Block provides the solution. This article discusses content blocks in more detail.
NOTE: Familiarity with Form actions is recommended to better understand this article. For more information, see Form Action.

What is a Content Block?
When used in a Form action, a Content Block displays a headline and informational text for your users.
You can add as many Content Blocks as you want to a Form Action. While they do not have a character limit, you may want to keep them as short as possible for increased workflow usability.
NOTE: If your workflow requires user input instead of long blocks of static text, a Text Question is recommended. For more information, see Text Questions.
Content blocks are formatted using a rich text editor, and support essential AUTTO features, including square brackets and conditional text. However, they cannot be saved to a square bracket []. Thus, they are not available for use anywhere else in a workflow.
A Content Block may contain any of the seven (7) types of file attachments allowed in AUTTO. Except for static files, these files would have been added to earlier Actions in the workflow (they are already known to AUTTO). Static files are those documents outside AUTTO that you can attach to an Action. Attached files are downloadable by workflow users. For more information, see Attaching Files to Actions.
NOTE: Attachments are optional in a Content Block.
Below is a sample Content Block in a default non-scrollable Form Action, as it appears in the User Application.
Below is how the Content Block appears together with the other Questions in the Form Action, if you set all Questions to appear on a single page.
Setting Up a Content Block Question
To add a Content Block to a Form action, select it from the list on the Action Editor. You can then start setting it up. For more information, see Setting Up a Form Action.
Advanced Options
Under a Content Block's Advanced options section, you can set up the following:
- Button name: Form actions are set to be non-scrollable by default, meaning you have to click a button at the bottom of each Question page to go to the next question. The button name is set to Continue by default. You can set a new name for the button here.
- Conditional Questions: Each question type you can use in a Form action can be set to include Conditional Questions, if required. With Conditional questions, a question can be made to appear or disappear, depending on certain conditions. For more information, see Conditional Questions.
